Hawzah News Agency- The new mosque will be equipped with a solar power system and air conditioning, aimed at ensuring both sustainability and comfort for worshippers. It will also include a dedicated classroom and a library, which will serve as the operational base for Quranic educational programmes.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, in collaboration with the National Centre for the Holy Quran, is working to establish Quran teaching branches across the Maldives, particularly in the atolls, to strengthen engagement with the Holy Quran.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the initiative, announcing plans to establish a Quran centre branch on every inhabited island.
The project reflects the government’s broader efforts to promote Islamic values and support religious education for future generations.
